"You know, monamiejorge†apes bring people together. Last year when Boyfriend made a tape for me we ended up in a band, this is our band's mixtape. As soon as we had our first song and video, "Vergine", it caught the attentions of like everyone, including people like: Diplo, Eve Berlin, Little Boots, Dinamo Azari, My Panda Shall Fly, and a ton more (I say this because I literally can not remember how much attention we received). Then we made a cover of "Call Me Maybe" and that was huge too. It was everywhere from Elektro Mag to being selected as one of the best videos of the week by Electronic Beat (T-mobile's website). Anyways not saying all this so Im convincing you how great our band is or anything, these are just cool things that have happened -- and now here's our mixtape. Through out it you can hear me singing Shania Twain, and it includes a lot of music that just fit us. anyone who knows me know about my affinity and dying love for this movie. and it's so obscure to many, I think -- or at least the internet. Someone posted the entire movie on youtube and well I had to make .gifs -- I've never come across any myself of any (with It's Pat).

I made this promo film for the upcoming Screamin' Rachael: Queen of House album that I curated. I also had a photoshoot and it was pretty awesome. I'll post those photographs later.
I also styled, and did the makeup for this. As a side note the day before we had an interview with Feast of Fun and so we went to Walgreens because we needed makeup brushes and I had also told Rachael that we needed to amp her nail color because I was wearing OPI's "Just Spotted the Lizard" from the Spiderman collection, and I didn't want her nails to be outshined by mine (she was wearing a muted gold color). So anyways, two days before or so I had seen online (at the polishaholic) that Essie was coming out with a resort collection, "In My Cab-ana"so that stuck in mind, and well it was there as soon as we walked in. We were at the Walgreens on Illinois next to the AMC. So I made her get it and so that's the color that she is wearing in the film. I had actually done her nails 10 minutes before we left, also I made her get Sally Hansen's Rapid-dri top coat, so phew. So if anyone from Essie is listening to this, and when this video goes viral on all those websites from press, I hope you consider this, and decide to send me more info on your collections ;)

I'm the most fertile in the spring. My energy, my life, my optimism -- through the roof. I think it's these tough Chicago winters that take a toll on my caribbean spirit. I need to roam free without intense heats and colds, can't I just have it all?

I asked Kreap to make a mixtape inspired by bathhouses. And in a way this tape is like the things that I desire when I sit in the steam/ sauna -- a life that would cater to my inner bohemian. Alas, I just look like a New Haven/ Princeton 18 year old straight from my private school, going on the circuit called life.
