Sunday, October 31, 2010 Y 9:10 PM "Dom was still in high school when his first erotic works were published and he wanted a pseudonym with real flair, so he signed them with the French version of his middle name Stephen - - Etienne. He gradually refined a distinction in artistic names based on the medium he was working in. He kept Dom for his more ambitious oils, acrylics and pencil works and used Stephen for his cartoon-style pen & ink works." You can view more works at the Leather Archives in Chicago, IL; yes, a leather and BDSM museum. I feel like it's all a nice mask to front to the people who will vote for them. I mean how on earth can they run by saying, "what's mine is mine and you can go fuck off." I highly enjoy reading Pitchfork Reviews Reviews cuz he reminds me of myself before I holed up and closed shop but also I always have loved reading people's full access behind the scenes stories. Also really enjoy the fact that unlike myself he can write about music and events freely without having to suffer the scorn of the publicists/bands. I already try to be more personal with my things but it seems like some people want to kill me when I do. I got called a wanker by a commenter on my Sufjan review. Alas, the cycle of access is one full of potholes. j: Do you listen to any Lady Gaga, if so any fav songs? PRR: i don't listen to Lady Gaga on my own but i don't mind her music. i think i have her records on my iPod because they seemed important when they were coming out and a lot of people were writing about them for a while and they seemed like something i should listen to seriously but i never got around to it. my favorite lady gaga song is Just Dance because one time i was DJing and this girl wrote down LADY GAGA - JUST DANCE on a bar napkin and handed it to me, as a request, and then on the other side was her phone number so i guess that's my favorite song j: Where do you imagine yourself in life in 40 years? PRR: partner at a law firm j: Do you ever feel burned out with music or going out? PRR: never feel burned out going out. sometimes feel burned out listening to music if i do it for many hours at a time and then realize i am just doing it out of habit and then have to take my headphones off. like right now i am on a bus to upstate new york and listened to music for 3 hours before i just took my headphones off and realized that enough is enough for now Labels: david, e-mail banter, pitchfork reviews reviews 0 comments Y 3:39 AM Labels: adium, chat, late night, max 0 comments Saturday, October 23, 2010 Y 5:53 PM Labels: jorge cruz, monamiejorge, self portraits 0 comments Y 2:02 AM red: like the color of your eyes after you spent the night inhaling smoke through them. yellow: like the color of your fingertips after you ate some cheetos. black: like the color of your nails after i banged them with a hammer. white: like the color of the sheet i put over your body that waved in the wind as your corpse floated on the water.
