The problem I always find with looking for sweaters that might fit me is that they just fit me but sometimes, like today where I'm sick and groggy, all I want is to wear an oversized sweater like those fab Stella Mcartney's but men's sweaters don't usually come in such a thing-so we improvise! I personally have a love for wearing really thick sweaters and stretching them very very slightly. On people who are not so thin (not saying fat or heavyweight) and are just curvy or thicker (again, one can be "thin" and be curvy) you just can't have your sweater hanging low and on the floor so instead you want it to look half too big but not big enough to where the sweater is dragging all funny on your thighs. If you have too big of a sweater you just lose the coolness of the effect and the comfort. Also one of my favorite techniques is looking at women's plus sized sweater because they tend to run in "normal men's sizes" but usually come with the pre-stretching. Another thing I like about women's sweaters is the variety they come in where men's clothes is all bland. I personally do not like wearing hoodies because they tend to be overpriced, they make you look like everyone else, everyone wears hoodies, hoodies are not chic in shape or style and sweaters can be found at much cheaper prices and add a hell of a lot more edge. One thing to be conscious of if you are going to wear any sweater is your body type and your style, while I may be able to pull off a sweater with parrots on them a person who is large and muscular with a buzzcut might not. A sweater is an enhancement and you want to avoid looking like you're trying to be funny or looking like you don't understand yourself. You always just want to look like you didn't try to hard or that you're in costume. For instance, if I wore a Cosby sweater I would look ridiculous because large patterns like that would consume my torso and make me and the rest of my outfit invisible. Just like one giant war mural gliding across the street. Onto some sweaters I would like this season, as always even if I can't find that exact thing I take cues from runway and find something similar. I mean how the hell can someone like me get an Anna Sui cardigan to run in my size-my arms would looking like a hot mess.
