NYFW 2012 or the same shit from last year! Seriously remember the drought of '10? Well so far this year, day one's shows aren't "bad" they are just like the trickled down versions of all the things we loved in Europe last year, and even the year before that. Now we all borrow ideas, and or concepts but this has been a bit too obvious. And yes I looked at the shows for you, and also if you're one of these people that needs to know trends for the season in order to get dressed--you need to close this page and learn to get your own opinion.

Peter Som/ Jil Sander last year
Kevork Kiledjian; I need accessories in this color, hats, many hats.
Richard Chai Love/Prada. SRSLY? Who on earth wants to actually wear this combination in the spring. I think for the most part no one knows how to design "menswear" because they become too attached to this idea that for the cool and edgy "male" client all they want is to wear ill-fitting droopy clothes and or suits. Suits that are deconstructed, constructed or slim. Now I am not saying someone couldn't pull this off, I'm sure some could. But menswear in general is the most boring, unoriginal and boxed off section in all the fashion weeks. The last person who made something even marginally interesting was Heidi Slimane, even then the suits there were a many. Listen if you're so concerned about stating to the world that you have a cock while wearing that leopard blazer, then maybe you should just stick to your Jordan basketball shorts. fucking get over it.

10 Crosby Derek Lam/ Marc By Marc Jacobs, last year

BCBG Max Azria/ Rodarte

I expect more from these New York designers  because mainly it's the job of stores like Forever 21 and H&M to trickle the high-end concepts to an everyday look but clearly the sentiment and need to dilute concepts is also something these people do. Meh for day one.
